South Florida Book Festival: COVER Opening Event

Author Candacy Taylor will talk about her book, Overground Railroad: The Green Book and The Roots of Black Travel in America-on the travel guide for African Americans circa 1936-1966.This social justice discussion will highlight the history of U.S. interstate travel and the perils faced by African Americans driving during the height of segregation. Presenting sponsors for Taylor’s book talk are: The Social Justice Institute of Florida Memorial University, The South Florida Social Justice Common Read, Florida Humanities, and South Florida People of Color.
